The Clever Boy at the Barber Shop

A young boy visits a barber shop every Saturday. The barber whispers to a customer, "Watch this boy. He is not smart." The barber puts two shiny coins in one hand and a paper dollar bill in the other hand. He says, "Pick one, young man!" The boy takes the coins and leaves the shop. The barber laughs happily. Later, the customer meets the boy on the street. He asks, "Why do you choose the coins? The bill has more value!" The boy smiles and answers, "Because the game ends on the day I take the bill!"

The Smart Boy at the Barber

A man visited a small barber shop at 10 a.m. on Saturday. While the barber was cutting his hair, a young boy entered. The barber smiled and said, 'Watch this basic trick.' He held out a shiny one-dollar coin and two quarters. 'The two quarters make fifty cents, but the dollar is one hundred cents. He always takes the quarters!' The boy picked up the quarters and left. Later, the customer saw the boy outside an ice cream shop. He asked politely, 'Why did you not take the dollar? It is twice as much.' The boy smiled and whispered, 'If I take the dollar, the game is over!'

The Busy Barber Shop

A man walked into a local barber shop and looked around at the busy room. He asked the barber, "How long will I have to wait for a haircut today?" The barber checked his schedule and replied, "About two hours, sir." The man thanked him and quickly left. A few days later, the same man entered the shop again. He asked the exact same question. The barber looked at the waiting customers and said, "It will take about an hour and a half." Again, the man nodded and walked out of the door. The barber became curious and said to his young assistant, "Follow that man and find out where he goes when he leaves here." After twenty minutes, the assistant returned with a big smile on his face. "So, did he go home?" the barber asked. "No," the assistant laughed. "He went directly to your house to visit your wife!"

A Matter of Style

A middle-aged man walked into a neighborhood barber shop sharp at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. He sat in the chair and made a very peculiar request. He said, 'Please do not give me a basic trim. I want the left side three inches longer than the right, a bald spot right above my right ear, and several uneven patches sticking out in the back. Make it look like a terrible disaster.' The confused barber patiently listened, rubbed his chin, and shook his head with professional pride. 'Sir,' the barber replied firmly, 'I have been cutting hair for over twenty years, and I take great pride in my craft. It would be completely impossible for me to cut anyone's hair like that on purpose!' The customer looked directly at him in the mirror and replied with a heavy sigh, 'Well, that is quite funny, because that is exactly how you cut it last month!'

The Clever Choice

A man walked into a local barber shop for a basic haircut. While waiting in his chair, the barber whispered to him, "Watch this. That little boy walking in is the slowest kid in town. Let me prove it." The barber called the boy over, placed a shiny two-dollar coin in his left hand and a crisp ten-dollar bill in his right, and offered, "Choose whichever you want, Billy." Billy carefully examined both, picked up the two-dollar coin, and cheerfully walked out of the shop. The barber laughed loudly and said, "See? He never learns! He always takes the smaller amount because he doesn't understand basic value." Later, after his haircut was finished, the customer left the barber shop and noticed Billy sitting outside near a bank, happily eating an ice cream cone. Unable to resist his curiosity, the customer approached the boy and asked, "Excuse me, young man. I saw what happened earlier. Why did you choose the two dollars instead of the ten-dollar bill? Don't you know ten is worth much more?" Billy smiled broadly, licked his ice cream, and replied, "Of course I do! But the day I pick the ten-dollar bill, the game is over."

A Generous Offer

In a quiet suburban district, an experienced barber named Mr. Harrison took immense pride in his profession. One bright morning around ten o'clock, a well-dressed gentleman stepped into the establishment, holding hands with a lively eight-year-old boy. The patron greeted the barber courteously, requesting a sophisticated haircut and a traditional hot-towel shave for himself. Mr. Harrison gladly obliged, engaging in pleasant small talk about local affairs while meticulously styling the man's hair.

Once the haircut was completed, the gentleman glanced at his luxury wristwatch with an expression of mild concern. "I just realized that I desperately need to visit the local bank across the boulevard to complete a basic financial transaction," he declared casually. "Would you mind trimming this young lad's unruly hair while I am briefly away? I shall return within twenty minutes to settle the entire bill." Assured by the patron's refined attire and polite demeanor, Mr. Harrison readily agreed.

The barber proceeded to give the boy a neat trim, but thirty minutes elapsed without any sign of the gentleman. An hour later, growing increasingly apprehensive, Mr. Harrison rested his scissors on the countertop. Looking down at the calm young customer reading a comic book in the chair, he remarked, "I am terribly sorry, son, but it seems your father has completely forgotten about you."

The boy chuckled merrily, looked up with wide eyes, and replied, "He isn't my father! That strange man simply approached me on the street and asked, 'Hey kid, do you want a free haircut?'"
