Good News at 2:00 a.m.

Tom and Mary have a new baby at home. The baby cries a lot every night. At 2:00 a.m., the baby starts crying again. Tom and Mary are very tired. Tom gets out of bed. He walks to the baby and stays there for ten minutes. Then he comes back into the bedroom and wakes his wife up. He whispers, "I have awesome news for you, Mary!" Mary smiles and asks, "Did the baby fall asleep?" Tom answers, "No, it is your turn now!" Then he walks away and sleeps.

A Mother's Little Baby

At 10:00 a.m. on a quiet Monday, an officer at the police station answered the phone. A worried mother shouted, "Help! Please arrest someone in my kitchen! My clever baby took a big sharp knife and will not put it away!" The officer was very surprised. He wanted to help the sweet child quickly. He asked, "Calm down, ma'am. Can you tell me how old your baby is?" The mother answered, "Well, he is forty-two years old. But he is still my baby, and he will not listen to me!" The officer smiled and did not know what to say.

The Award-Winning Parrot

One morning at 10:00 a.m., a man walked into a local pet shop because he wanted an awesome companion. The shop owner smiled and showed him a colorful parrot that was wearing a tiny golden medal. "This clever bird won a famous award last year," the owner said proudly. "If you pull the string on his left foot, he sings like an angel. If you pull the string on his right foot, he recites funny English jokes." The man was amazed by the bird's talent, but he wondered what would happen next. He asked the owner, "What happens if I pull both strings at the same time?" Before the owner could answer, the parrot looked at the man, shook its head, and shouted loudly, "I will fall flat on my face, you silly baby!" The man laughed out loud, stepped away in surprise, and decided to buy the bird immediately.

A Day at the Zoo

One morning at 9:00 a.m., a police officer was patrolling a neighborhood when he saw something unbelievable. A man was casually walking down the sidewalk with a real penguin. Shocked by the sight, the officer stopped his car and stepped out. "Excuse me, sir," he said strictly. "You cannot just stroll around with a wild animal. You must take it to the zoo immediately, or I will arrest you." The man nodded politely, thanked the officer, and walked away with the creature. The next day, the officer was driving along the same street. To his surprise, he spotted the man again, still accompanied by the penguin. This time, however, both of them were wearing sunglasses and carrying beach towels. The furious officer stepped out and shouted, "Hey! I clearly ordered you to take that penguin to the zoo yesterday!" The man smiled cheerfully and replied, "I did! We had an awesome time there yesterday. Today, the weather is great, so I am taking him to the beach!"

A Quick Way to Get Help

One quiet night at 2:00 a.m., an elderly man named George woke up and noticed suspicious shadows in his garden. Looking closely, he realized two burglars were breaking into his storage shed. George immediately dialed the emergency number and explained the dangerous situation. However, the police operator replied, "I am sorry, sir, but all our patrol units are currently away dealing with incidents elsewhere. We cannot dispatch anyone right now. Please lock your doors until morning." George stayed calm, paused for thirty seconds, and hung up the phone. He took a deep breath, dialed the station again, and whispered, "Hello, you do not need to send anyone anymore. I just shot both intruders, and they are lying on the grass." The effect was awesome and immediate. Within four minutes, three patrol cars and an ambulance arrived at George's house with sirens blaring. The officers were able to surround the shed and quickly arrest the intruders, who were completely unhurt. A furious officer marched up to George and shouted, "You told me that you had shot them!" George smiled gently and answered, "And you told me that you had nobody available."

The Art of Misjudgment

A wealthy gentleman who considered himself an elite art connoisseur invited a pompous critic to inspect his luxurious private gallery. The critic, eager to demonstrate his superior intellect, strode through the corridors, dismissing masterpiece after masterpiece. He claimed that one canvas was utterly pedestrian, sneered at another for its evident lack of chromatic nuance, and maintained an aura of severe condescension throughout the tour.

Suddenly, the arrogant critic halted before a tall, gilded frame positioned at the end of the hall. With an theatrical sigh, he declared, "This piece is undeniably hideous! The subject appears thoroughly exhausted, the posture is grotesque, and the brushwork looks like the clumsy work of a baby! It is truly an insult to genuine aesthetics." He added that the gallery owner deserved an award for displaying the most repulsive monstrosity ever conceived.

Watching the critic's furious gesture, the host quietly stepped forward and replied with a gentle smile, "My dear friend, please calm down. You are standing directly in front of an ornamental mirror." Overcome with utter humiliation, the pompous critic backed away in silence, unable to defend his hasty verdict.
